Country Estates Garage Sale

Country Estates will be having its biannual neighborhood-wide garage sales Friday-Saturday, Oct 10-11. The newsletter delivered last month had the wrong dates. Please spread the word.

Tax Proposal Forum Meeting

The City of Owasso will conduct Community meetings to present and field questions regarding an upcoming sales tax proposal. The City is proposing a half penny increase to the current Owasso sales tax rate to provide a dedicated funding source for Police, Fire and Streets. If passed, this initiative would include the removal of the Public Safety fee currently paid by residents on their monthly utility bill. The revenue generated from the additional half penny would be utilized to fund additional staff for Police, Fire, and Streets, as well as provide funding for equipment, facilities and street maintenance. Residents are encouraged to attend one of the listed meetings where additional information will be provided and resident questions answered. For questions regarding the proposal, please reply or contact John Feary, or 918-376-1519.

Meetings scheduled at this time:
9/25/14 Owasso Community Center Ram Room 6-8 pm
9/29/14 Discovery Bible Church @ German Corner 6-8 pm
10/2/14 Baptist Retirement Center 6-8 pm

Please plan to attend one of these Community meetings to obtain more detailed information and the opportunity to ask questions to the City Manager and city staff.

Owasso CARES–September 20th

Owasso CARES is having its biannual day of service on Saturday, September 20th from 8:30-1:00 pm. As you recall our neighborhood benefited from a day of service last year. Now it’s our time to pay it forward. I’m hoping we can get some residents from our neighborhood to help. If you want more details or would like to help, please reply.

Block Party Thanks

Thank you to everyone who attended our second annual neighborhood-wide block party. All the food, games, movie, fellowship and great weather really made for a wonderful evening. A very special thanks goes out to those who made the event possible. We estimated that about 200 people attended. Looking forward to next year!
