It’s that time of year again to clean out that garage! It’s time for our Spring Neighborhood Garage Sale along with our neighbors Crescent Ridge. A special thanks to Crescent Ridge for providing the advertising.
Saturday, May 19, 2018
From 8am – 12pm?
Rain or shine
At Country Estates (over 700 homes) and with our neighbor Crescent Ridge (over 100 homes).
Feel free to spread the word however else you want to.
With over 800 homes able to participate but only a small number usually opening up for the garage sale, we wanted to make it easy for shoppers to navigate through the 2 neighborhoods and help all sellers get more traffic.
SIGN UP ON THE SHOPPER MAP
Sign up by May 12. Shopper Map will be published by May 15.
Please note that additional homes may be open for shopping that do not make it onto the Shopper Map (due to timing, change of plans, etc.)
Set up shop for as long or as short as you’d like during the open hours, or even beyond. Feel free to visit others’ homes and meet more of your neighbors and buy their stuff.
We need to meet to have our first block party meeting. We have two available dates to choose from: Wednesday, July 5th OR Monday, July 10th. We will meet at 7 pm at Funtastic Island so your kids can play while we meet. We will go with which ever day most people can make it. Please reply if you can make it and which date you prefer.
Gonna be honest, if we don’t get volunteers to show at our meetings, we won’t be having a party. Hate to be that blunt, but we need help.
Do you remember how much fun our last neighborhood block party was? We had a blast, so let’s do it again! Our next annual neighborhood-wide block party is scheduled for Saturday, September 9, 2017. But we are in need of volunteers to help make this event possible. We all get busy quickly with work, family, and other things; however, without your help, we might not be able to have a block party! There would not be a lot of time commitment on your part—we generally meet about once to twice a month prior to the party. And you don’t have to spend any of your money! We have a small amount in our neighborhood account to help with this year’s party. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved with our residents and our neighborhood. If you are interested, please respond on either our Facebook page or Nextdoor. Let’s make this the best party ever!
Country Estates Residents,
As indicated in our last newsletter, our Neighborhood Garage Sale was tentatively set for Oct. 8th. Because of shortness of time preparation, football games, and wanting to host a sale in conjunction with our Crescent Ridge neighbors, the date has been moved to Saturday, November 5th.
If you are interested in having a sale, I encourage you to click on the link below to add your sale to the shopping map:
The Tulsa World will run an add, Nov 3rd-5th.
- JOINT NEIGHBORHOOD GARAGE SALE Country Estates 116th/Garnett Crescent Ridge 124th & Garnett in Owasso Saturday, Nov. 5, 8 am-noon. Rain or shine. More information available at http://bit.ly/crgsf16 Including a printable Shopper Map
This will also be posted on Nextdoor.com and our Facebook page.
Of course by all means have any garage sales you wish before then. But if you want to participate in our neighborhood wide sale, it will be Nov. 5th. Please spread the word as many residents won’t know. Let’s make this the best neighborhood sale ever!
Country Estates Residents! Don’t forget that we are having our annual Neighborhood-wide Block Party this Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm. The location is between 10759 E. 122nd Ct N and 10771 E. 122nd Ct N. Come join us for a fun evening together! Be a Pokemon!
Saturday, May 21st will be our biannual Neighborhood Garage Sale. This is a joint garage sale coinciding with Crescent Ridge, who is advertising our sales in the Tulsa World, Owasso Reporter, and Craigslist, and has generously included us. If you would like to register your garage sale so that prospective buyers can know of your sale, click on the links below. You have till May 9th to register your house on the Shopper Map.
Please spread the word as no newsletters will be coming out to our residents regarding the event. I will post this info on our nextdoor, Facebook, and webpage. Also, I’ll be posting the neighborhood garage signs only a week out prior to the event. So again, please let everyone know.
Let’s make this the best garage sale ever!
As some of you may know, Saturday, April 16th is Owasso’s biannual Day of Service. For this spring event, residents are encouraged to get out in their neighborhoods to work on various projects, such as cleaning up entrances, etc.
If you are like me, Saturdays are always booked. A wonderful idea was proposed that since most of us are already busy that day, perhaps we as a neighborhood could come up with some projects and just do them during the course of the week leading up to the Day of Service on our own schedule.
If you think that is a good idea, then what do you think could be some possible projects to work on? And would anyone be willing to help during the week?
This is a great opportunity to get out, meet some neighbors, and help make a difference in our neighborhood and community!
